The Sound Effect

This project was part of “The Sound Effect” campaign for the Port Royal Sound Foundation, produced in collaboration with Motiva Marketing, who led the concept and writing.

Our role was to bring that concept to life across a four-day shoot, working with hired talent and multiple locations throughout the South Carolina Lowcountry.

From a production standpoint, the challenge was scale and consistency. Different environments, different moments, different talent, all needing to feel like one cohesive piece. Marsh, water, community spaces, quiet moments, more active scenes. Everything had to connect without feeling pieced together.

The concept itself is simple. Can a place change how you feel? That simplicity is what makes it work, but it also means there’s nowhere to hide. The visuals have to carry it.

We approached it by keeping things controlled but not overly staged. Talent direction stayed natural. Locations were chosen to reflect real use, not just visual appeal. And the pacing was built to move between energy and stillness without breaking tone.

Working alongside Motiva Marketing, the goal was alignment. Take a strong written concept and make sure the execution supports it at every level. Nothing added that didn’t need to be there. Nothing missing that would weaken the idea.

For organizations and brands, this is a good example of how larger campaign work comes together. Clear concept, strong collaboration, and production that stays focused on delivering the message without overcomplicating it.

Four days, multiple locations, full crew, hired talent. Everything working toward one idea that holds from start to finish.
